RECRUITMENT OF ASSISTANT MANAGER (MARKETING)-I

RAILTEL CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED, a premier Public Sector undertaking, under Ministry of Railways has been incorporated in September 2000. RailTel has been set up primarily to modernize and augment the existing infrastructure for providing communication facilities for Railways and for commercial users. Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following posts for marketing and sale of RailTel product such as sale of bandwidth services, VPNs, IP services etc. and explore new opportunities to maximise penetration into the market place.

Probation - 2 years
- Job Description : Development, management and sales of RailTel’s product and services in telecom and IT fields. Development of all marketing activities that encourage customers to sample and convert to active users. Creation, management and execution of marketing programes to encourage retention and renewal of customers. Management of all marketing tactics and communication - Most effective pricing and promotion options – Development of preview /trial strategies – Partner relationships – All activities that will drive sales.
- Medical standards: A-3 medical category standards as detailed in Chapter - V of Indian Railway Medical Manual Vol. I are applicable. - In case of Selection on the above-said post, such selection shall be provisional subject to verification of character and antecedents of the candidate by the concerned authorities, satisfying the requisite medical standards and other requirements applicable on appointments under the Central Govt. PSUs.
- The incumbent will draw pay at the minimum of the scale of the post alongwith allowances as admissible to the post. Leased residential accommodation as per Corporation’s rules and entitlement, can be availed at the place of posting in lieu of HRA.
- Place of Posting: Any where in India as per the requirement of the Corporation. Tentatively the postings will be in metro and tier I cities.
- Reservation of posts for SC/ST will be as per Government directives. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should enclose an attested copy of Caste/Tribe certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Certificate of Disability: Only those candidates who furnish the requisite Disability Certificate issued by the concerned Medical Officer or Board for appointment under Central Government PSUs, shall be eligible for consideration against vacancies earmarked for candidates suffering from physical disabilities indicated in this vacancy notice and for other concessions/ relaxations.
- Candidates employed in Central / State Govt/PSUs/attached or subordinate office or any other public body under central /state govt. should route their applications through proper channel or produce a 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of interview, if short listed and called for the interview.
- The candidates applying against OBC reserved vacancies should note that they have to produce a valid caste certificate in support of their belonging to OBC community by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format for this purpose so as to prove that they do not belong to 'Creamy Layer' of the OBCs. Further, the caste to which the candidate belongs should be the one included in the Central list of OBC since RailTel Corporation is a Central PSU.
- No traveling expenses will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written test/interview. However, SC/ST candidates, called for the interview will be reimbursed 2nd class to and fro Rail fare by the shortest route on production of tickets.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
- No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates found ineligible and not called for written test/interview or for non-selection.
- Scheme of Examination: election will be based on written test followed by interview for the shortlisted candidates. The written test will be held at Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and will comprise 150 objective type questions. Out of 150 questions, 70% questions will be on professional subjects and 30% questions will be on general awareness, reasoning and proficiency in English language.
- The candidates must give his option of center clearly in the application form. Option of center once exercised will not be changed. However, in the event of not holding the examination in a particular city, due to administrative reasons the examination center may be allotted in some other city and a candidate will have to appear for the written examination at the center/city finally allotted by the Corporation. No request for change of examination centre shall be entertained under any circumstances.
- The candidate must attach attested photocopies in support of proof of age, educational qualifications, category and experience mentioned in his application. Application without attested copies of the required documents or without photograph or signature of the candidate or examination fee shall be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard shall be made nor entertained. Originals need not be sent at this stage. The originals are required to be produced at the time of interview. Applications complete in all respects along with a passport size photograph of candidate, to be pasted at the space provided in the application form, together with a crossed Bank draft/pay order of Rs. 400/- drawn in favour of 'RailTel Corporation of India Limited' payable at ICICI Bank, New Delhi or State Bank of India, New Delhi, should reach at the address given below by the last date of receipt of applications. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and physically handicapped candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
- Applications not received with requisite fee or not submitted in the manner prescribed or with less fee or DD/pay order not drawn on the prescribed bank payable at New Delhi or incomplete or vague or received after the last date of receipt of application or due to any other similar reasons will be summarily rejected. Examination fee once received shall not be returned in any circumstances. No action will be taken on applications received after the last date and neither the fee received with such applications nor the application will be returned. No correspondence from such applicants and from ineligible candidates will be entertained.
- Candidates are advised to give specific information and proof by way of attaching attested photocopies of the original documents/certificates in support of their experience etc. in the relevant field.
- Candidates must ensure before applying that they fulfill all the educational and other requirements and possess the essential qualifications as prescribed, at the time of applying the post. All candidates, whose applications are received within stipulated period may be allowed to appear in the written examination. However, the application / candidature of any candidate may be rejected / cancelled at any stage during or after the selection process, if it is found that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility conditions or has not enclosed the required documents or due to any other reason.
- In case of any dispute the jurisdiction of court will be Delhi /New Delhi only.
- In case of any discrepancy in the translated version of this advertisement in Hindi or other language the text of the advertisement in English language will prevail.
- The application neatly typed on A4 size paper in the prescribed format should be sent to Post Box no. 9, General Post Office, New Delhi-110001. While sending the application, candidate must write on the top of the envelope "Application for the post of Assistant Manager(Marketing)I" and should arrange to send the application in such a manner that the application reaches at the above address on or before 19-05-2008. The last date of receipt of application will not be extended under any circumstances.
